The Bells of Climate Change are Ringing

The Carillon Bells at Wesleyan are ringing a different tune
Published: December 24, 2008 - 10:30am

The sound of carillon bells from church steeples is a traditional sound this time of year - but at Wesleyan University, a different kind of sound is ringing across campus.   "The Weather at Six" is a sond installation by Wesleyan professor and sound artist Ron Kuivila, based on weather patterns of the last 130 years.  It's a "sonic interperetation" of the weather - meant to get people thinking about global warming.  It's part of a larger project called "Feet to the Fire" - happening on the Middletown campus, aimed at bringing together different disciplines to explore climate change.
